Anchor Bay Introduces Intellectual Property Licensing Program
- New Intellectual Property licensing program created for Anchor Bay's video processing technologies
- Enables chip designers to integrate Anchor Bay's video technologies into system-on-a-chip (SoC) and other solutions for the consumer electronics and broadcast markets
- Twenty-four of Anchor Bay's market-proven technologies are now available to support the growing demand for improving video processing, especially internet video, in consumer electronics
Campbell, CA - August 25, 2010 - Anchor Bay, the industry leader in video processing systems and video processing semiconductors, announced today the launch of a new program to make its intellectual property products available for licensing. For the first time, chip designers will be able to efficiently embed Anchor Bay's industry-leading video processing technology into a range of product categories including mobile, netbook, tablet, and display products, where advanced video processing may not have been implemented previously due to the impracticality of incorporating additional semiconductors. A large menu of choices from Anchor Bay enables designers to select the appropriate technology set for any given product.
This new set of intellectual property products creates a third product line for Anchor Bay, alongside their existing businesses in Anchor Bay semiconductors and DVDO video processing systems.
"Anchor Bay has received an increasing number of inquiries from potential new partners looking for better image processing, particularly in the area of internet video, but many of these partners are unable to embed external processing chips. By licensing the intellectual property of Anchor Bay's video processing technologies, we are enabling their use in a wider range of product categories," said Doug Fealtman, CEO of Anchor Bay. "This product launch creates a new route for partners to efficiently integrate the best quality video processing on the market into virtually any device including mobile phones, tablet computers, and displays."
Twenty-four Anchor Bay technologies are currently being offered for licensing. The major processing blocks include: Video Smoothing™; 3D Noise Reduction; Progressive Re-Processing (PReP™); Precision Video Scaling™; Adaptive Video Scaling™; Detail & Edge Enhancement; Mosquito Noise Reduction and Color Management.
