- Digital Core Design (DCD) today releases the 5th generation of World's fastest and most popular 8051 core. DP8051 runs Dhrystone 2.1 benchmark program 11.45 to 14.74 times faster than the original 80C51 at the same frequency. It can be easily checked by everyone using our DoCD on chip debugger and running included Dhrystone benchmark inside DoCD simulator. It gives 0.10779 to 0.13868 DMIPS/MHz (VAX MIPS), which is much better performance comparing to our competitors. If we also take into account its small gate-count size then it makes DP8051 perfect choice for all customers seeking 8051 based solutions. There is also worth to mention that this core has long ASIC history, and its 5th generation was build as an enhancement of its previous generation. Such way of the DP8051 enhancing made it the most reliable and stable product.
DP8051XP family provides efficient real-time JTAG based DoCD debugger and is fully user configurable - there are the most important features. During the last 8 years active life of DP8051 we sold it to hundreds of customers, however DP8051 was never sold twice in identical configuration.
