Thermal Diode on TSMC CLN40G
The ABIBJT40 remote thermal diode macro is implemented using bipolar and 1.8V IO devices.
Overview
The ABIBJT40 remote thermal diode macro is implemented using bipolar and 1.8V IO devices. The diode is a core macro intended to be used with analog IO pads and low-resistance interconnect (not included). The diode is designed to work with popular temperature sensors, like the MAX6557/6658/6659 from Maxim.
In order to maximize ease of use, the diode incorporates a proprietary ESD structure, which is proven in several generations of processes. The ESD protection within the thermal diode core is supplemental – primary protection should be in the IO pads. In the case that the IO pads are close to the Thermal Diode (less than 1 Ohm away for A, K and VSS connections) then the ESD structure within the diode may be used as the primary ESD protection (no additional ESD protection required).
