Video special: Interview with TSMC Chairman Morris Chang

SAN FRANCISCO — Industry legend Morris Chang, an architect of the semiconductor foundry business, sat down here this week with EE Times editor-in-chief Brian Fuller to discuss where the chip industry has been and where it is headed.
Chang, 75, is the founding chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd., the largest silicon foundry in the world. Chang moved to the United States in 1949 to attend Harvard University. He eventually received his bachelor and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1964, Chang earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
Chang spoke with EE Times after his keynote address at the International Solid State Circuits Conference.
