Artisan Components Appoints Senior Executive To Expand Strategic Customer Programs
SUNNYVALE, Calif., - January 7, 2000 - Artisan Components Inc., (Nasdaq: ARTI), the leading provider of physical intellectual property (IP) components, today announced the appointment of Eduard Weichselbaumer to the newly created position of vice president of strategic programs. Weichselbaumer's objective is to expand Artisan's library business with key semiconductor manufacturers and system companies. He will report to Mark Templeton, president and CEO of Artisan Components.
"The complexity of advanced deep-submicron processes require a new technical and business approach for semiconductor and system companies to be successful," said Mark Templeton, president and CEO of Artisan Components. Eduard has an extensive background in developing and managing programs in this area. I am confident his leadership will be a tremendous asset to Artisan and I am thrilled to have him join our team."
Weichselbaumer is a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience in sales and marketing management for EDA and semiconductor companies. Before joining Artisan, Weichselbaumer headed the Worldwide Library Sales and Business Development team at Synopsys, Inc. Prior to this, he held senior management positions with Pacific Silicon Technologies, HHB Systems, LSI Logic and Fairchild Semiconductor. Weichselbaumer holds an MSEE degree from Technical University and an MBA equivalent from Siemens Business School, both in Munich, Germany.
Artisan also announced that Larry Fagg, vice president of worldwide sales, has left the company to pursue other interests. In recognizing Fagg's departure, Templeton noted, "We thank Larry for his significant contributions to Artisan's success and growth and we wish him well in his future endeavors."
