Rambus Names Dr. Mark Horowitz Chief Scientist
Los Altos, CA - May 24, 2005 – Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS), one of the world's premier technology licensing companies specializing in high-speed chip interfaces, today announced that Dr. Mark Horowitz, a company co-founder and high-speed signaling expert, has been named Chief Scientist. In his new position, Horowitz will report directly to Harold Hughes, Rambus's president and CEO.
Prior to being named Chief Scientist, Horowitz served as director and also served as vice president from 1990 - 1994. As Chief Scientist, Horowitz will be responsible for assembling teams to evaluate trends and look for opportunities to apply Rambus's high-speed signaling expertise to various markets. He will take an active leadership role in determining Rambus's future technological development and direction. Dr. Horowitz, along with Dr. Michael Farmwald, founded Rambus in 1990. Dr. Horowitz has taught at Stanford University since 1984 where he is currently a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Dr. Horowitz holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
