pSemi Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Cirrus Logic and Lion Semiconductor
SAN DIEGO – APRIL 3, 2025 – pSemi Corporation, a leader in advanced power management and conversion technology, has filed a lawsuit to defend and enforce its intellectual property against alleged unauthorized use by Cirrus Logic, Inc. and Lion Semiconductor Inc. The case involves three patents owned by pSemi: U.S. Patent No. 12,113,438, U.S. Patent No. 12,143,010, and U.S. Patent No. 12,212,232. pSemi’s lawsuit accuses Cirrus Logic and Lion Semiconductor of directly infringing, as well as inducing others to infringe, the three pSemi patents.
The asserted pSemi patents relate to integrated circuits and electronics for power conversion using innovative charge pump, or switched capacitor circuit, technology. Power converters are core components for modern consumer electronics, including mobile devices.
Through its filing with the United States federal court, pSemi seeks to prevent any further infringement of pSemi’s patents, as well as requests monetary damages from Cirrus Logic and Lion Semiconductor for alleged past and ongoing infringement.
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP https://www.quinnemanuel.com is representing pSemi in the case, which was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, Case No. 1:25-cv-00415.
Headquartered in San Diego, California, pSemi is a pioneer in radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits and power management electronics. In 2017, Arctic Sand Technologies, which was spun out from research out of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) relating to novel power conversion techniques, joined pSemi. Today, pSemi offers high-performance integrated circuits that leverage its advanced capacitor-based power conversion technology.
