PLDA Announces a Full Set of Solutions to Immediately Enable PCIe 4.0 Design Success
New slideware outlines methods that allows designers to optimize and validate their applications for PCIe 4.0 before motherboards even become available.
SAN JOSE, Calif., September 22, 2016 -- PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® interface IP solutions, today announced a full set of solutions allowing designers to create products optimized for PCIe® 4.0 now. PCIe 4.0 motherboards are not expected to be obtainable until 2017, but when they become available, the market will expect access to applications and components that can take advantage of PCIe 4.0’s speed and agility. By helping with project solutions now, PLDA enables designers to take advantage of the PCIe 4.0 market with less design lag.
To support their solution set, PLDA has created a short video presentation outlining the steps designers can take today to bring their PCIe 4.0 products to completion. The slideware is featured on PLDA’s website at https://www.plda.com/accelerate-your-pcie-40-design-now and outlines considerations required to deliver PCIe 4.0 success including:
- Ways to choose the right technical architecture and feature set for a design
- Methods to validate and test a design on hardware at PCIe 4.0 speed
- Techniques to ensure a smooth integration between the PCIe PHY IP and a PCIe controller
- Approaches to create teams that are trained on all of the specific aspects of PCIe 4.0 design
Additionally, the video presentation includes a demo, showing for the first time a PCIe 4.0 Controller IP running at 16 GT/s on a generic PCIe Endpoint platform.
According to Arnaud Schleich, CEO of PLDA, “PCIe 4.0 is expected to deliver added speed and functionality that today’s market craves. By enabling our customers to take advantage of PCIe 4.0, we are giving them a time-to-market and cost-to-market advantage.”
