Orbital Research Inc. and Gaisler Research AB signs license agreement for LEON3
February 26, 2007 -- Gaisler Research AB announced that a license agreement has been signed for the use of the LEON3 with Orbital Research Inc. (US). The LEON3 and the GRLIB IP library will be used in Orbital's new high temperature sensor intended for use in advanced military propulsion systems.
"We're proud that Orbital Research, after evaluation against competing architecture's processor solutions, selected the LEON3 and GRLIB for this high end application," said Per Danielsson, president & CEO of Gaisler Research. "With the LEON3-processor technology, the high temperature sensor chip will benefit from increased performance and a low gate count.”
“The expected performance and the availability of source code for the LEON3 and GRLIB gave us an ideal solution. The LEON3 on-chip local RAM also enables us to minimize the number of external components, said Greg S. Shaw, Ph.D. Director of MicroDevices at Orbital Research.”
The LEON3 processor together with the GRLIB IP-library is ideally suited for SoC designs and implements plug and play capabilities, minimizing the engineering effort during the design phase.
