The world’s first open source security chip hits production with Google
February 21, 2025 -- Over the past six years, Google has been working with lowRISC, OpenTitan partners and the #opensource community to build #OpenTitan, the first open source silicon Root of Trust (RoT). We’re excited to share that Google has just announced that fabrication has commenced on production OpenTitan silicon by Nuvoton Technology Corporation! Product integrations have begun to intercept Chromebooks shipping later this year, with datacenter integrations following shortly after.
