Nazomi and CoreTek Announce High Performance Java and Multimedia Platform Solution for China's Mobile Phones
- September 14th, 2004 - CoreTek Systems, Inc., a leading Chinese provider of embedded software solutions for wireless devices and Nazomi Communications, Inc., a pioneer in developing multimedia processors for mobile phones, announced today the formation of a strategic agreement; whereby the two companies have aligned to bring high performance Java and multimedia capabilities to mobile phones.
CoreTek has adapted its DeltaMIDP® technology, a software platform for implementing Java applications and multimedia services in mobile phones, to Nazomi's patented hardware acceleration technology found in its JA108 processor and its soon-to-be announced multimedia processors.
The combined solution enables mobile phone makers to support more sophisticated, 2D & 3D graphics-intensive Java games, MPEG4 video and MP3 audio applications which will soon be launched to the market. Operators and service providers can now confidently deploy revenue-enhancing services and compelling content that are developed with Java software, allowing consumers to use their mobile phones to enjoy richer applications and services including streaming video, music, multimedia messaging, 2D & 3D gaming, and location-based and financial services.
