LTRIM's LTR1010 Low Dropout Voltage Regulator Lowers Power Consumption, Increases Battery Life of Portable Devices
- LTRIM Technologies, an innovative leader in CMOS analog virtual components and Laser Fine Tuning technologies, today announced the availability of the LTR1010 low drop out (LDO) voltage regulator. The new LTR1010 LDO comprises a unique combination of features that are ideal for both SoC designers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of small, battery-powered devices.
The LTR1010 LDO provides an ultra low quiescent current of 10µA or less, a very low noise floor, and an input that ranges from 1.8V to 5.5V. These features enable designers to lower power consumption and increase the battery life of portable devices. The new LDO includes a fixed and programmable output that ranges from 1.2V to 2.5V, providing the utmost in flexibility for designing the power management functions of a system-on-a-chip (SoC) of a portable device. It also offers thermal shutdown protection that can be software controlled, thus adding to the flexibility of this design.
“The LTR1010 LDO offers benefits that are crucial to the success of wireless portable devices,” said Guy Lemieux, LTRIM president and chief executive officer. “The LDO not only dramatically reduces power consumption, which in turn, extends battery life, it also allows designers to increase the functionality of their devices for a competitive advantage, an absolute must in today’s fast-paced market.”
LTRIM’s high-performance power management and other analog intellectual property (IP) easily integrates into mixed-signal SoCs and analog chips for overall BOM cost savings, higher reliability and performance, and exceptional accuracy. The LTR1010 is available now for customer use.
