iVivity Relies on Verisity's Verification Process Automation and Reuse for Its iDiSX Chip

Reusability Proves Key to Advanced Verification Solution for Block and Chip Level Verification

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 2004

-- Verisity, Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of verification process automation (VPA) solutions, today announced iVivity, a leading technology provider for storage network processors, has completed verification of its iDiSX(TM) chip design through the successful implementation of Verisity's flagship product Specman Elite(TM) and SureCov(TM) code coverage technology.

In order to meet tight schedules, iVivity needed to maximize resources with verification reuse. iVivity specifically chose Verisity's e Reuse Methodology (eRM(TM)) and e Verification Components (e VCs) to address these issues. "The reusability definitely gives us a time-to-market advantage," said Satheesh Parasumanna, senior verification engineer at iVivity. "The reusable components for multiple interfaces allow us to apply the same test case for generating different simulation patterns," he added. "It makes life easier for our team."

Parasumanna explained that the methodologies have been used in conjunction with Verisity's Specman Elite to develop a coverage-driven approach that introduces new levels of automation into iVivity's verification process. The iVivity verification team also employed Verisity SureCov code coverage tool to accurately gauge block, expression and state machine coverage.

"We can create functional tests much faster now," said Parasumanna. "The object-oriented methodology was easy for our verification team to adopt and gives us the flexibility to create directed or random tests. In most cases we're finding bugs with less effort and greater speed than ever before," he added.
