ASIC supplier ICsense selected for GlobalFoundries’ official design partner network

Leuven – December 9, 2024 – ICsense, a TDK Group Company and independent subsidiary specializing in the design of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), has announced a new partnership with GlobalFoundries (GF), a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing. This partnership through GF’s GlobalSolutions ecosystem aims to streamline access to GF’s semiconductor foundry services for ASIC suppliers like ICsense, facilitating quicker and more reliable market launches of custom ICs and providing early access to new design and process data.

By joining the GlobalSolutions ecosystem, ICsense will leverage GF’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and extensive network of industry partners. This collaboration is set to enhance ICsense’s ability to innovate and deliver high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective semiconductor solutions tailored to the specific needs of its clients. GlobalFoundries has wafer production lines in Singapore, Germany and the U.S. and ships over 2M wafers per year.

Herbert Preuthen (Deputy Director, GF), Wim Claes (CBDO and co-founder, ICsense), Michael Verwagner (Principal Account Manager, GF), Jeroen Van Ham (Sr. Business Development Manager, ICsense) confirmed the partnership at Electronica 2024 in Munich.

ICsense’s expertise in analog, mixed-signal, and high-voltage IC design, combined with GF’s state-of-the-art fabrication technologies, will drive the development of next-generation semiconductor products. This partnership will enable both companies to address the growing demand for sophisticated IC solutions in various sectors, including automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer electronics.

“After past ASIC designs in GlobalFoundries’ technologies, we are thrilled to now officially join the GlobalSolutions ecosystem,” said Dr. Bram De Muer, CEO of ICsense. “This partnership will allow us to expand our capabilities and deliver even more innovative solutions to our clients active in automotive, medical, industrial and consumer markets. There is a good match between the BCD platforms that GlobalFoundries offers and the requirements we see for high-reliable ASIC developments. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with GlobalFoundries.”

“ICsense’s addition to our ecosystem is a testament to their excellence in IC design,” said Ziv Hammer, senior vice president of design platforms and services at GlobalFoundries. “Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in semiconductor technology and deliver unparalleled value to our customers.”
