Vivante GPU IP Selected for C2 Microsystems' Jazz-Based Media Processor SoC
-- Vivante Corporation today announced that C2 Microsystems, Inc., a leader in silicon and software solutions for presenting rich media content delivered over the internet, has selected Vivante GPU IP technology to bring feature-rich GUI and on-screen display capabilities to their high performance SoC media processors.
"By adding Vivante GPU IP, C2 addresses the visual user experience both today and tomorrow, to help the consumer navigate increasingly capable multimedia devices," said Dr. Jinxiang (Gene) Liu, CEO and President of C2 Microsystems, Inc. "This gives us the ability to extend our SoC platform capability in home entertainment and automobile infotainment devices with audio, video and image processing requirements."
"Increasing demand for sophisticated on-screen displays, graphical user interfaces and Internet gaming applications drives ever-more capable GPUs into a wide range of SoCs, where silicon area and performance delivered per milliwatt are the most important factors in selecting a GPU. Vivante is fueling this growth by providing a wide range of silicon proven GPU cores with the best performance per square millimeter of silicon area for each product category. This dramatic silicon area savings enables SoC vendors to differentiate a wide range of platforms with leading edge graphics performance," said Wei-Jin Dai, CEO of Vivante Corporation. "The bottom line is that Vivante lets our customers offer high performance, low power graphics in their full platform solutions with a minimum of incremental silicon cost."
