Faraday and Improv Systems Form Strategic Marketing Partnership for Implementing High-performance DSP Designs
-- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading ASIC and Silicon IP provider, and Improv Systems, a leading supplier of DSP-based silicon IP, today jointly announced an agreement through which Faraday will market and assist mutual customers in integrating Improv's high-performance Jazz DSP platforms as part of Faraday's custom chip design service offering.
Improv offers a complete suite of solutions based on its popular Jazz™ DSP platform, a highly configurable, multiprocessor architecture that is well suited for today's demanding consumer, multimedia and mobile communications applications. In addition to being offered as a pre-configured fixed processors and with complete instruction sets for a variety of applications, the Jazz DSP is also available as a configurable solution or “designer-defined DSP core” - customizable by designers for their specific product or application domain. The Improv technology is offered in three main implementation options: Jazz DSP, Jazz Voice and Jazz Media, each tailored to the unique needs of each market.
“The Improv technology is an ideal match to Faraday's FA series CPU, and through this partnership, we can further enrich our IP portfolio, and gain more ASIC experiences. With Improv's innovative technology, combined with our silicon IP and ASIC design expertise, we are confident to highly fulfill the demands from electronic developers, and help expand the reach of Improv into the high-growth markets, such as DMA, IP-STB ( Set Top Box), HDTV, DVR, PMP, and Wi-Fi phone…etc.,,” said George Hwang V.P. of Faraday.
“We are pleased to be working with Faraday to help mutual customers take advantage of our respective expertise and technology. We're confident the skills they bring to bear on integrating complex SoCs and ASICs will allow designers to leverage the full potential of our DSP solutions,” said Bryan Greear, Vice President of Sales at Improv.
