CSR aptX puts the "Hi" into Arcam Hi-Fi Audio Gear
Sound quality experts add aptX audio codec for premium Bluetooth® wireless sound quality
IFA 2012, BERLIN, Germany - Sep 3, 2012 - CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) today announced that UK based Arcam, a provider of premium quality Hi-Fi, home cinema and streaming music products, has licensed CSR’s aptX® audio codec for its rBlink™ audio converter to provide customers with CD quality sound wirelessly.
Using the CSR aptX audio codec, rBlink enables any Bluetooth equipped music device to quickly and easily send music straight to a Hi-Fi system with premium quality. rBlink uses a high-end PCM 5102 DAC to convert music to a line level output ready for connection to a whole host of audio systems. Installation is easy with a simple pairing system for new devices. rBlink adds wireless connectivity for any Bluetooth® enabled device. By incorporating aptX technology, Arcam can offer consumers audio quality indistinguishable from wired with an extensive dynamic range, deep bass and crystal-clear top end. The aptX audio fits within the available bandwidth of wireless transmission standards to offer an efficient solution for bandwidth-restricted connections.
“Arcam is one of the cream of the crop for delivering world class sound,” said Jonny McClintock, CSR's Director of aptX sales and marketing. “This collaboration is another in a growing number of hi-end audio companies and products to offer aptX technology, including products from Cambridge Audio, Creative, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sennheiser.”
Charlie Brennan, managing director of Arcam, added, “Arcam are very pleased to be working with CSR and to be part of the success of Bluetooth audio. The aptX codec offers customers a very convenient route to Arcam’s goal of providing better sound to more people.”
