APTX licenses Enhanced apt-X to Digigram
Belfast, Northern Ireland -- January 4, 2010 – APTX, the audio coding solutions company and developer of the apt-X suite of audio codec technology, today announces that Digigram, the French manufacturer of high-performance IP audio codec equipment for professional broadcast applications, has licensed the Enhanced apt-X audio codec.
Digigram will offer the Enhanced apt-X codec in both the IQOYA line of IP audio devices as well as within Visiblu, the company's network audio operating system (management of distributed audio processing resources and IP audio transport) for both Windows and Linux platforms. Drawing on the core features of Enhanced apt-X i.e. ultra low latency of slightly over 1 millisecond and excellent acoustic response, the Audio over IP product range from Digigram will facilitate broadcasters who are migrating Studio to Studio and mission critical Studio to Transmitter Links from traditional synchronous E1, X.21 and ISDN circuits to IP packetized networks.
For Pascal Malgouyard, Digigram's Head of Product Marketing, "Enhanced apt-X will be particularly suitable for customers looking for excellent audio quality while preserving low delay figures when network bandwidth is available".
Jonny McClintock, Commercial Director of APTX states that “We are delighted to have Digigram as a Licensee of Enhanced apt-X. The well-known features of low latency and audio quality offered by Enhanced apt-X will be greatly complimented in the IQOYA range of audio codecs. The broadcast industry is the true winner in that users can access a superb codec in a world beating product. As Enhanced apt-X has been adopted by public service and commercial broadcasters in Europe, Asia and the America’s having the codec available on the Digigram products will ensure worldwide market availability”.
