Accelerated Technology Now Shipping code|lab Developer Suite for Hitachi's SuperH RISC Processors
Embedded Processor Forum - San Jose, Calif. - April 30, 2002 - Accelerated Technology®, the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics® (Nasdaq:MENT), today announced that the code|lab™ Embedded Developer Suite for Hitachi's family of SuperH® RISC processors, is now shipping. This code|lab Developer Suite for SuperH is the first release in a series of many for Accelerated Technology (AT).
Support for the SuperH family includes code|lab EDE, an embedded development environment, and code|lab Debug, a multitasking debugger, with the KMC GNU C/C++ compiler and Partner-J connection device.
The code|lab family of development tools from Accelerated Technology is a comprehensive set of software and hardware components that provides developers with a complete out-of-the-box embedded development environment. Each specific code|lab configuration works off-the-shelf, enabling designers to take full advantage of these widely used processors, each of which is optimized for specific applications. This announcement extends Accelerated Technology's strategy of offering customers embedded development products which allow them to immediately begin developing their product and get it to market quickly. The code|lab Developer Suite is the only product of its kind that provides both software and hardware components in one powerful, ready-to-use kit.
"Accelerated Technology's code|lab Developer Suite for SuperH processors offers a user-friendly graphical user interface that simplifies embedded application development," says Dr. Yashvant Jani, director of application engineering at Hitachi Semiconductor (America), Inc. "code|lab complements Hitachi's line of processors to accelerate time to market."
"Since the early 1990s, we have consistently supported all SuperH processors supplied by Hitachi. It is our best selling product in Japan and we expect a boost in the U.S. and Europe as a result of this announcement. We find the Hitachi processors to fit well into the price performance of our customers' needs. I hope that this announcement results in more design wins for Hitachi and ourselves alike," said Neil Henderson, general manager of Mentor's Embedded Systems Division.
With this new code|lab release for SuperH, developers building applications such as digital set-top boxes, portable information appliances, car navigation systems, factory automation systems and digital cameras will greatly benefit from AT's latest innovative software and hardware solution.
Pricing and Availability
Available now, the U.S. price per seat for the code|lab Embedded Developer Suite starts at $4,495.00/each.
