8-Channel PCM-to-PWM Modulator in Fujitsu 55nm

Overview

The AR35F01A is a digitally coded conversion IP that translates 8-ch (4 stereo channels) of 16-24bit pulse-code modulated (PCM) input data into pulse-width modulated (PWM) outputs. The IP supports three different output schemes, AD, BD and ternary to reduce EMI impact to ambient environment. The PWM outputs can driver off-chip or on-chip P/N MOSFET switches for power-efficient Class D speaker amplifier configuration.

The IP supports standard I2S, left-justified, PCM/DSP digital audio interface (DAI) data format inputs. The DAIs operates at sampling rates ranging from 8KHz to 48KHz. The PWM outputs and features are configurable with on-chip I2C/SPI/AMBA interfaces. It also supports left-channel only, right-channel only mono operation as well as the default stereo operation mode.
