WXIC names industry veteran Simon Yang as CEO
Leading NOR flash memory and 300mm foundry strengthens leadership to prepare for next wave of growth.
WUHAN, China – January 19, 2013 – WXIC (Wuhan Xinxin Semiconductor Manufacturing), a leader in NOR flash memory production and 300 mm technology, announced today that Dr. Simon Yang has been appointed CEO. Dr. Yang is a recognized veteran in China’s semiconductor industry and will play a key role in expanding WXIC’s presence in the global semiconductor industry as it brings world class manufacturing solutions to the market.
Previously Dr. Yang has held positions as CTO and Senior Vice President of operations for Chartered Semiconductor (now Global Foundries). He also served for many years at Intel where his last position was as Senior Director of Logic Technology Development. Currently he also serves as an executive consultant to many of China’s semiconductor initiatives. He received his PhD in Materials Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

One of Dr. Yang’s first imperatives will be to build an internationally qualified executive team.
