SpringSoft's Certitude Functional Qualification System Deployed by Fujitsu Semiconductor to Further Improve Verification Quality of Automotive Microcontroller
HSINCHU, Taiwan-- January 10, 2011 --SpringSoft, Inc. (TAIEX: 2473), a global supplier of specialized IC design software, today announced that its Certitude™ Functional Qualification System has been successfully deployed by Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited . The Certitude software enables engineers in the company’s Automotive Business Unit to raise the quality of verification environments and intellectual property (IP) design components required to develop microcontroller unit (MCU) solutions for a broad range of automotive electronics applications.
Design teams in Japan initially used the Certitude system to evaluate the quality of their current register transfer level (RTL) simulation-based verification environments, improve internal IP quality, and qualify third-party IP designs for “FR” product families, their 32bit RISC microcontroller for automotive applications. Based on the positive results achieved to date, Fujitsu Semiconductor will expand deployment of the Certitude software to teams at Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe GmbH in Germany as they commence development of next-generation automotive semiconductor products.
“When supplying devices to the automotive market, we felt that our current verification environment, although good, could benefit from an objective measure of verification quality to produce the best results possible,” said Mr. Yasuaki Dokko, general manager of the Automotive Business Division at Fujitsu Semiconductor. “Adding Certitude to our verification environment in our “Cedar” ASIC design service flow and coverage-driven based verification, we can achieve more reliable verification. We believe this enables us to deliver highly qualified products to our customers."
“For Fujitsu Semiconductor’s automotive business division, ensuring that their embedded IP and microcontroller solutions are of the highest possible quality is paramount, which requires state-of-the-art verification environments and technologies,” said George Bakewell, director of product marketing at SpringSoft. “Certitude provides RTL-based tools and metrics with a streamlined, highly automated qualification flow that finds the biggest problems earlier, exposes major holes in verification faster, and produces results that are more complete and objective than conventional coverage methods.”
About Certitude Functional Qualification
The Certitude Functional Qualification System removes verification uncertainty and accelerates functional closure of complex IP and SoC designs. Its unique automation technology combines mutation-based techniques with static analysis to measure effectiveness, identify significant weaknesses, and improve the quality of results of HDL simulation-based verification environments. The Certitude system is interoperable with existing tool flows and fully compatible with all current functional verification methodologies, and is an integral part of SpringSoft's family of NovasTM Verification Enhancement products that enable engineers to do more verification in less time.
