Samsung Electronics Licenses Kilopass' Embedded Non-Volatile Memory Technology for its Foundry Business
Kilopass Partners with Samsung Electronics’ Foundry Business to Offer One-Time Programmable (OTP) Memory
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Mar. 15, 2010 -- Kilopass Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor logic non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP) today announced that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will support Kilopass’ one-time programmable (OTP) antifuse memory, XPM™, in its foundry business’ advanced logic processes. With this licensing agreement, Samsung Foundry’s customers now have access to Kilopass’ scalable, cost-effective embedded NVM IP solutions for advanced logic processes.

Due to its compact size, Kilopass’ XPM IP is uniquely suited for a rapidly growing number of small-to-medium-capacity applications that require high reliability and security. XPM is implemented in standard logic CMOS without any modifications to the foundry processing steps. Being designed with standard devices supplied by the foundry and following foundry DFM design rules has enabled faster time to market of XPM to a large variety of processes and foundries. The portability of Kilopass’ technology, coupled with streamlined porting and qualification methodology, has enabled Samsung Foundry’s customers to use Kilopass’ OTP NVM for its advanced logic processes.
