Kilopass Hires Michel Courtoy as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

Courtoy’s Track Record, Experience Complementary to Kilopass’ Executive Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. –– March 2, 2015 –– Michel Courtoy, an experienced technology executive, has joined Kilopass Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor logic non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), as vice president of marketing and business development.

In making the announcement, Charlie Cheng, Kilopass’ chief executive officer (CEO), praised Courtoy’s track record for building startup teams and technologies. “Michel is a great complement to our existing executive team. His operational and management expertise, and deep understanding of marketing, sales and engineering will help enable Kilopass to move to the next level of growth.”

Prior to Kilopass, Courtoy was an advisor and consultant to emerging technology companies and served as a member of the board, assisting in strategic planning and financing.

Previously, Courtoy was president and CEO of Certess, Inc., leading it from its early stages and venture financing, through its go-to-market phase, resulting in its successful acquisition by SpringSoft. Before Certess, he was a vice president in Cadence’s mergers and acquisitions group, joining Cadence through the acquisition of Silicon Perspective where he was vice president of marketing. Courtoy started his career at Intel and worked at Quickturn Design Systems, Inc. through its initial public offering (IPO).

Courtoy holds Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif. He took courses in the Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
