Xylon Expands Portfolio with the Face Detection and Tracking Computer Vision Technology
Zagreb (Croatia) -- February 17, 2014 -- Through a partnership with Visage Technologies AB, a software expert company for computer vision and computer graphics, Xylon expands its product portfolio with the Face Detection and Tracking computer vision technology that increasingly finds place in applications like automotive driver assistance, assistive technologies for disabled people, marketing and retail, entertainment and gaming, surveillance, biometrics and many others.
The goal of this technology partnership is to jointly deliver Visage Technologies‘s state-of-the-art face detection and tracking technology on the Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC, which combines dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 processors and programmable logic on a single device and enables parallel implementations of multiple real-time algorithms in a single-SoC.
Visage Technologies’s Face Detection and Tracking is implemented as the C++ software that delivers 3D head pose, facial expressions, gaze direction, eye closure, 2D/3D facial feature points and textured 3D face model, and includes an easy-to-use API that allows for quick integration with other applications.
Xylon’s role is to optimize the technology for use on the Xilinx Zynq-7000 AP SoC, provide means for easy and flexible technology integration with other computer vision applications running on the same SoC and to develop hardware accelerators in programmable logic that will off-load the processing system and increase the overall processing performance.
The specific Face Detection and Tracking implementation will be offered through Xylon’s logicBRICKS™ IP library.
