Conexant Systems reaffirms commitment to MIPS Technologies by licensing its 64-Bit core for use by Conexant's internet infrastructure division designs
Conexant to use MIPS64 5Kc Core In Internet Infrastructure Applications
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., January 11, 2001 - MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPS, MIPSB), a leading provider of industry standard processor and architectures and cores for digital consumer and network applications, today announced that Conexant Systems Inc.'s, (NASDAQ: CNXT), Internet Infrastructure Division has been assigned the MIPS Technologies license for the MIPS64 5Kc processor core for use in advanced semiconductor and software solutions for Internet infrastructure equipment. In addition, Conexant, the world's largest independent company focused exclusively on providing semiconductor system solutions for communications electronics, has retained a license to the MIPS64 5Kc core.

Conexant previously licensed the MIPS64 5Kc processor core for use in its advanced communications and consumer applications. The MIPS64 5Kc enabled Conexant to integrate high performance MIPS-based? cores into communications product solutions, which reach across multiple Conexant divisions.
