Atrenta's SpyGlass Wins Prestigious "LSI Design of the Year" Award
SAN JOSE, CA. - August 19, 2002 - Atrenta(TM) Inc., the Predictive Analysis Company, announced that its SpyGlass(R) Predictive Analyzer was awarded the prestigious "LSI Design of The Year" Award by Japan's Semiconductor Industry News. SpyGlass was chosen from approximately two hundred contenders to receive the Excellence Award in the Design Environment/Development Tools category. Factors influencing the selection of winners included product innovation, ability to address a real challenge, and customer acceptance. Atrenta’s SpyGlass, which is in use by over fifty customers worldwide, emerged as the winner of the Excellence Award. Semiconductor Industry News honored Atrenta and its Japanese distributor, PDI, at a special reception at the Embedded Systems Expo & Conference in Tokyo on June 28th, 2002.
“SpyGlass was chosen for its predictive analysis capabilities, which allow users to perform in-depth analysis of Verilog and VHDL at RTL creation phase, identify complex issues, and correct them before simulation and synthesis, thus saving time and money,” stated Dr. Isao Shirakawa, professor of Information Systems Engineering at Osaka University and chairman of the LSI Design of the Year selection committee. “SpyGlass has many successful customers in Japan who are using SpyGlass to reduce costly design iterations, reduce risk of schedule slip, and achieve the confidence of releasing a better quality ASIC/SoC in shorter time.”
“We believe Atrenta’s SpyGlass has made very significant contribution in shortening the design cycle time of SoCs,” stated Dr. Takashi Nanya, professor at University of Tokyo and committee chief of LSI Design of the Year. “The predictive analysis technique to detect downstream problems in the initial stage of the design is very innovative and unique. This is going to accelerate the design of more advanced digital devices. SpyGlass has proven to live up to its name of looking ahead.”
"We are honored to receive this very notable award from one of Japan's leading technology publications,” said Dr. Ajoy Bose, CEO and President of Atrenta Inc. “Selected as the winner by the committee comprising of world renowned professors from leading Japanese universities, lends special significance to this award. This award is continued validation of SpyGlass’ innovation in solving a major challenge in designing complex SoCs.”
