LONDON
— AnaFocus SA, a fabless chip company founded in September 2001, has brought forward a number of mixed-signal designs and interfaces and is specializing in vision sensors and post-processing systems for intelligent vision systems.
AnaFocus (Sevile, Spain) is a spin-off of from the Institute of Microelectronics of Seville and the University of Seville. The company offers design services and intellectual property for license but is also developing its own line of vision systems on CMOS chips. These systems use biologically inspired hardware and software architectures. The company claims this produces high performance at low power consumption.
The company has developed a series of focal plane sensors and its Eye-RIS vision system. The company is adding software development kits to the processors and coprocessor set ups to produce application-specific versions of Eye-RIS aimed at automotive applications, interactive consumer goods and internet surveillance and security.
AnaFocus lists United Microelectronics Corp. and multiproject wafer service organizer Europractice (Leuven, Belgium) amongst its partners.
