Overview
The Gemini TPS5201MP OTN processors IP cores are a member of Tera-Pass’ product family for access applications. Gemini TPS5201MP processors support the functionality required by access networks and by premium services networks. Gemini TPS5201MP client ports support one or two Ethernet/SDH signals, provides EOS functionality, and conveys its payloads to an OTU1/OTU0 (2.7/1.3 Gbps) bearer. The OTU1/OTU0 signal may operate in a 1+1 protection configuration.
Gemini TPS5201MP IP Cores support 2 Ethernet FE/GE or SDH STM1/STM4 Client Ports and 2 OTN Line Ports. The SDH signals are monitored and then they are GMP mapped to ODU0 containers. For FE/GE, Gemini TPS5201MP generates the RMON statistics associated with each signal. Gemini TPS5201MP can map the FE/GE signals transparently (GMP/GFP-T) or GFP-F to ODU0 containers. Since in many applications there will be Ethernet switches implementing bandwidth limiting fronting it, the Gemini TPS5201 can map the FE/GE signals to multiple SDH VC4/VC3/VC12 component signals implementing a VCAT (Virtual Concatenation) capability. In case that the number of VC containers needs to be adjusted, Gemini TPS5201MP also provides an LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme) capability. The resultant multiplicity of VC4/VC3/VC12 containers can be multiplexed to STM1 or STM4 signals. The ODU containers are then transported to their destination by OTU signals. Gemini TPS5201MP can multiplex 2 ODU0 containers to an ODU1 and transport the signals with an OTU1 bearer or transport a single ODU0 container over an OTU0 bearer.

Carriers are now deploying 5G across the globe driven by the need to keep up with relentless mobile data growth. 5G New Radio (NR) operates at higher frequencies to increase bandwidth, but at the expense of range. There will therefore be a need for a much larger number of 5G RUs to provide the same coverage. The availability of cost-effective, reliable and open 5G radio units is therefore critical.
AI system architects no longer face a binary choice between scale-up and scale-out fabrics. Modern AI platforms require both to be executed efficiently, predictably, and within aggressive schedules. The shift lies in how risk is managed across these domains.
The Rambus Multi-Channel Engine MACsec-IP-364 (+363) is purpose-built to meet the demands of next-generation Ethernet. It delivers full line-rate MACsec and optional IPsec support for 1.6T and 3.2T Ethernet ports, offering a highly scalable and configurable solution for securing high-speed data traffic.
