MIPS32® M14Kc™ Core to Provide High Performance, Cost-Efficiency and Low Power for Mobile Solutions

(NASDAQ: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, announced today that 4G chipmaker Sequans Communications has selected its MIPS32® M14Kc synthesizable processor core for next-generation mobile solutions. The M14K family of cores is the first to leverage the microMIPS Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) which maintains 98% of the high performance of the MIPS32 architecture while reducing code size by at least 30%, translating to significant silicon cost savings.
