Kilopass Announces Embedded Non-Volatile Memory for 65 nm Low Power and 65 nm General Purpose Processes
SANTA CLARA, California, August 23, 2007
-- Kilopass Technology Inc., the semiconductor industry’s leading embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) Intellectual Property (IP) supplier and pioneer, today announced that its XPM™ technology is now available for 65-nanometer (nm) low power (XPM-65LP™) and general purpose (XPM-65G+™) processes. Kilopass XPM technology is the world’s first high-density embedded NVM technology verified in silicon and available for design in 65 nm standard logic CMOS processes. Kilopass is also making XPM-65LP and XPM-65G+ evaluation kits available to its customers.
Working closely with its foundry partners, Kilopass continues its leadership role in providing high-density embedded NVM solutions on the most advanced CMOS process geometries. Kilopass XPM technology is ideal for standard logic and mixed-signal CMOS design applications requiring embedded non-volatile memory since the XPM technology requires no additional mask or process steps. This makes it fast and simple to integrate using standard design methodologies.
“With the introduction of our XPM technology for 65 nm processes, we are able to demonstrate that XPM memory technology is compatible with advanced CMOS geometries,” said Craig Rawlings, Director of Marketing. “Older technologies, like floating gate technologies, run into serious manufacturing challenges at geometries smaller than 130 nm. Since many of our customers understand these manufacturing hurdles, we are seeing a high demand for our IP, especially from customers designing products on advanced process geometries.”
More about XPM
Kilopass’ silicon-proven, low cost and highly secure XPM memory technology offers the benefits of field programmability of NVM implemented in standard-logic CMOS processes, including 180 nm, 130 nm, 90 nm and 65 nm. Targeted SOC applications include: Digital Rights Management (DRM), High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (DHCP), encryption keys, electronic security, chip ID, mixed-signal trim and calibration, memory and pixel repair, firmware and parameter storage, and hardware configuration.
