Veteran High-Tech Executive Vic Markarian Joins Lexra As Southwestern Regional Sales Director

Vic Markarian Brings over a Decade and a half of High Tech Industry Experience and Knowledge to Rapidly Growing IP Company

SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 7, 2001) - Lexra Inc. is pleased to announce that Vic Markarian has joined the company's sales team as southwestern regional sales director. Vic Joins Lexra from ViaWorks, Inc. where he held the position of vice president of Business Development. He brings fifteen years of high-tech sales experience to Lexra as the company enters its next major growth phase. He has a proven track record in business sales, producing over $6 million in sales as regional sales manager for the Southern California territory for Aspec Technology. His work history is one of consistently exceeding goals and sales quotas, design ins, and developing partnerships with Fortune 1000 electronic system OEMs.

"Like every start-up, Lexra's evolution has been constrained by the lack of sales resources needed to expand," said Charlie Cheng, president and CEO of Lexra. "Vic Markarian is a major step in the solution of this problem. Vic, not only started the San Diego sales office for Aspec Technology, but he was responsible for a consistent growth in sales in the Southwest from semiconductor giants such as AMCC, Conexant, IBM Wireless Division, Intel, Vitesse Semiconductor and others-key accounts for Lexra MIPS R3000-class RISC, RISC/DSP and packet and network processor cores. Finally Vic is a veteran of the market in which we operate, having worked for Dazix and Compass Design Automation-now part of Avanti Corp."

"Lexra is a great company in the midst of significant growth," Vic Markarian said. "The newly announced LX4380 processor takes the performance lead at 420 MHz in 32-bit embedded processor cores. The LX8000 packet processor is the ideal IP core for network equipment companies building next generation network switches and routers performing deep packet (level 7) processing. And the LX5x80 family of RISC/DSP cores is perfect for companies doing voice over IP applications. This is a company on the move and I think I can help it get to where it's going faster."

Vic graduated California State University Northridge with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He received his master's in business from the University of San Diego. He lives in San Diego, where he can be found on the golf course or sailing the waters of the Coronado Peninsula when he's not working.
