MTI Releases the next generation in OBSAI, CPRI, & JESD technology

MTI Mobile – a world-leading developer of radio network technology for 3G and LTE - is launching a range of next generation of high-speed Intellectual Property Core (IPC) solutions allowing mobile & wireless equipment providers to develop faster and more powerful radio network solutions.

Barcelona -- March 1, 2012 -- Mobile World Congress, 2012 -- MTI Mobile today announced the availability of a complete portfolio of state-of-the-art Intellectual Property Cores (IPCs) compliant with the next generation of CPRI v.5.0, OBSAI RP3-01 v.4.2, and JESD204B data transmission and conversion standards.

The new IPC solutions from MTI Mobile empower technology providers to develop more efficient and much faster mobile base station radio units as well as more powerful digital signal processing and data conversion chipsets & end-to-end solutions for mobile network & other high-speed networking applications.

By employing MTI Mobile’s silicon-agnostic solutions into digital and mixed-signal designs, equipment and chip manufacturers will be able to dramatically cut time to market by minimizing expenditures on development resources.

“MTI Mobile’s IPC is the world’s leading solution and de-facto industry standard for wireless and data communication interfacing applications. They allow chip vendors to focus on developing end-to-end applications by the use of our ready-made building blocks. This means chip and solution vendors will achieve a shorter time to market and the highest reliability on the market today” says Dr. Christian Lanzani, Senior Product Manager at MTI Mobile.

MTI Mobile’s IPC solutions are completely self-contained and fully verified in compliance with their respective standards. MTI Mobile IPC solutions are today incorporated into many market-leading 4G radio unit live deployments and has been selected by many of the world’s most successful vendors of ASICs, ASSP, FPGAs and data converter devices.

About MTI Mobile’s CPRI solution

CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) is an interfacing standard for high-speed communication of digital radio samples and control data between wireless infrastructure base station network elements, including the REC (Radio Equipment Controller) and the RE (Radio Equipment) interfaces. It enables up to 9.830 Gbps line rates and supports all wireless standards including WCDMA, LTE, and multi-carrier GSM with flexible sample widths. The solution is compatible with the Open Radio Interface (ORI) Lower Layer Specification 1.0.

About MTI Mobile’s JESD204 solution

JESD204 is a JEDEC interfacing standard for high-speed transmission of digital radio samples and control data between latest generation of data converters and digital signal processing (DSP) devices. MTI Mobile’s solution consists of transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) controller modules for flexible and high performance data transfers up to 6.250 Gbps in compliance with the latest JESD204B 2011 standard.

About MTI Mobile’s OBSAI solution

OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative) RP3 / RP3-01 is a dedicated high-speed communication protocol for exchange of digital radio samples and control data between wireless LTE radio units and radio modules. MTI Mobile’s IPC-OBSAI-RP301-v42 solution enables the quickest and most reliable deployment of baseband modules (BBMs), local converters (LCs) and Remote Radio Head (RRH) interfaces. The solution includes all features required to support WCDMA/LTE/MC-GSM/EDGE and WiMAX applications with rates up to 6.144 Gbps.
