Lufthansa Technik and Panasonic Avionics Joint Venture, IDAIR GmbH, Selects INSIDE Secure's DRM Fusion Solution for Its In-Flight Movie Service
Aix en Provence, June 16, 2015 – INSIDE Secure (Euronext Paris: INSD), a leader in embedded security solutions for mobile and connected devices, today announced IDAIR GmbH, a joint venture between Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Lufthansa Technik, has deployed INSIDE Secure’s popular Digital Rights Management (DRM) software DRM Fusion to protect content within its system. This In-Flight Entertainment and Communications (IFEC) solutionoffers a smart, advanced and customized multimedia environment for VIP passengers. INSIDE Secure’s DRM Fusion enables IDAIR GmbH to acquire movies from Hollywood studios and bring those movies and entertainment directly and safely to viewers onto the VIP planes.
Choice of content, especially early release movies, provided on in-flight entertainment systems, is becoming one of the differentiators and factors in passenger satisfaction and selection of airlines. With in-flight entertainment systems for jets, IDAIR GmbH offers examples of the kind of high-value specialist products dedicated to premium corporate customers. Thus the need for efficient content protection and a proven solution that stops electronic piracy in its tracks. INSIDE Secure’s Downloadable DRM Fusion Agent provides the critical and studio-approved content protection needed to secure media.
IDAIR’s IFEC is made up of subsystems from Lufthansa Technik and Panasonic Avionics. The use of INSIDE Secure DRM Fusion Server and personalization modules, deployed in the Lufthansa Technik’s subsystem, has been extended to Panasonic Avionics’ subsystem for its own custom client side solutions with INSIDE’s DRM Fusion Agent.
Industry leaders such as BBC, HBO, SFR, Orange or Sky already use INSIDE Secure’s Downloadable DRM Fusion Agent to protect billions of premium content playbacks on Android and Apple iOS devices and provide anytime, anywhere viewing. More than 100 million applications protected by INSIDE Secure’s DRM Fusion Agent have already been downloaded by consumers worldwide.
