Ingot Systems spins off Dedicated Memory Controller Solutions Company, MemCore, Inc.
Santa Clara, CA, April 24, 2006 - Ingot Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Electronic Design Solutions, today announced the spinoff of MemCore, Inc., as a wholly owned subsidiary, to focus exclusively on providing customers with high-performance application-proven memory controller solutions for ASIC/SoC and FPGA technologies.
Ingot Systems has spent over three years in the development of memory controller technology featuring its unique architecture that uses an advanced scheduling algorithm and a low-latency memory interface to provide guaranteed high system bandwidth. Ingot has licensed its memory controller IP to multiple customers spanning a wide range of applications and targeting 0.13u, 90nm and 65nm process technologies. Current Ingot customers will continue to receive the superlative support with customizing and integrating the IP into their designs from the MemCore team.
MemCore is the first and only pure-play Memory Interface Solutions company. MemCore provides customers with Memory Controller IP, verification environments, customized back-end interfaces, memory models, hard and soft PHY and DLL timing components and applications support- everything a customer needs to successfully implement leading edge high-performance memory interface solutions. “The formation of MemCore Inc., as a spinoff from Ingot Systems, will provide customers with a broader range of new, proven, memory interface solutions at a much faster rate than previously possible”, said Jai Iyer, President & CEO of Ingot Systems. “It’s the right time to create a company with a single minded focus on memory interface solutions. New designs require performance levels that have outstripped other IP providers’ capabilities and this has created a wider performance gap that MemCore can fill.”
“MemCore begins business with a wealth of knowledge and application proven products from Ingot Systems”, said Raghavan Menon, VP of Engineering at Ingot. “We have 5 memory interface products shipping today and a roadmap for exciting new products for the next few years that will cover every popular memory standard at the industry’s highest performance levels. We are completely focused on the memory solution business.”
