Conversant Announces Semiconductor Memory Patent License Agreement With Toshiba
OTTAWA -- Sept. 18, 2017 - Conversant Intellectual Property Management Inc. announced today a semiconductor memory patent license agreement with Toshiba Corporation. Toshiba offers a wide range of semiconductors and storage products that make possible today's latest smartphones, tablets, ebooks, digital cameras, head mounted devices, medical devices, automotive applications, networking, enterprise applications, and PC and notebook storage. Under the agreement, Toshiba receives a license under certain Conversant worldwide patents and patent applications for products including flash memory, MRAM, FeRAM, and other storage-class memory. The terms of the agreement are confidential.
"We are pleased to enter into a new license agreement with Toshiba," said Boris Teksler, CEO of Conversant. "This license is the latest agreement that reflects the value of Conversant's semiconductor memory patent portfolio, which dates back to 1975 when the company first focused on inventing ways to improve Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) semiconductors. In the years since, we've continued to strengthen our memory portfolio with both our internal research and development and the acquisition of patents from semiconductor leaders. Today's memory portfolio is one part of our compelling package of semiconductor-related patents."
