IntelliProp, Inc. announces availability of SATA RAID IP Core
SATA RAID-IP core targets high speed data acquisition applications
Longmont, Colorado - October 22, 2012 - IntelliProp, Inc., a leader in innovative semiconductors for data storage applications, announced today the availability of a licensable SATA RAID-IP core. High speed data acquisition companies find this product very useful with the ability to reach data throughput speeds of 4x, 8x or 16x that of a single SATA connection. The IntelliProp SATA RAID-IP core follows the RAID 0 (striping) algorithm and allows for the adjustment of parameters such as "data bus width" and "stripe size."
The IntelliProp SATA RAID-IP core is a hardware only core which results in high efficiency and optimal performance. The RAID 0 mode allows the user to aggregate the data capacity across multiple drives. If preferred, the RAID 0 mode can be disabled and a “big” mode selected, which allows the user to concatenate all of the drives.
“The SATA RAID-IP Core is a wonderful product for customers looking to increase capacity and double or quadruple performance of a single storage element,” said Hiren Patel, VP of Business Development at IntelliProp. “The SATA RAID-IP core has been integrated and is currently shipping in volume programs and it is perfect for data acquisition systems such as surveillance cameras, film capture, or other high speed data needs,” continued Patel.
The SATA RAID-IP core is available today through IntelliProp, Inc. and is available for ASIC integration and FPGA development on the Altera and the Xilinx product platforms. The SATA RAID-IP core can be used with Altera and Xilinx development kits and IntelliProp’s IPB-SA116A-ZM “Pumori” board can be used to evaluate up to nine SATA drives.
