Sarnoff's 65nm CMOS TakeCharge ESD Solution licensed to Fujitsu, Japan
-- Sarnoff Europe (www.sarnoffeurope.com) today announced that it has licensed its on-chip electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection portfolio, TakeCharge® to Fujitsu. Sarnoff customized the TakeCharge® solution specifically to protect Fujitsu’s 65 nanometer complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) integrated circuits (IC) products from ESD damage.
With the Fujitsu and Sarnoff TakeCharge® license agreement covering a wide range of Fujitsu's IC and wafer production, Fujitsu is targeting an extensive deployment of the TakeCharge® technology as the standard ESD design solution in their 65nm IO libraries.
“Fujitsu selected Sarnoff’s TakeCharge to help continue our tradition of providing customers with highly reliable high-performance products and services based on powerful technologies,” said Shoji Ichino, general manager, Technology Development Division, Electronic Devices Business Unit of Fujitsu Limited.
TakeCharge® will be Fujitsu’s primary ESD solution for their 65nm CMOS technologies after its full deployment in Fujitsu’s related standard IO libraries.
“With more and more major companies struggling to meet industry standard requirements such as 2kV Human Body Model (HBM) and 200V Machine Model (MM), we’re glad Fujitsu recognized Sarnoff can offer desired results and superior performance,” said Koen Verhaege, executive director of Sarnoff Europe. “Fujitsu’s selection of TakeCharge speaks greatly to the trust they, and the industry in general, have placed in Sarnoff to provide quality solutions.”
TakeCharge® technology is silicon proven in advanced processes down to 65nm CMOS, with 45nm ESD design solutions already in full development, and is widely used by leading IC producers worldwide, including Toshiba, Sony, OKI, NJR, Hynix, Epson, Matsushita, Renesas, Ricoh, Infineon, Altera, PMC-Sierra, Scintera, and now Fujitsu.
