The new PWM audio Modulator of Dolphin Integration presents high flexibility, up to 95 dB SNR for a DAC

Meylan, France – March 25, 2011 --The new PWM audio modulator of Dolphin Integration, sDACS95-SP.01-OL.LB-Titanium, presents numerous high added-value features for advanced fabrication processes: 65 nm, 55 nm and soon at 40 nm. It flexibly enables to reach market segments from lowest BoM to highest sound performances:

  • a high quality stereo PWM Modulator, performing 95 dB SNR with a high output power, up to 400 mW output through a modest MOSFET pair
  • an optimized voltage regulator for high resilience to Power Supply Noise (PSN) with proper Tolerance Template (T2) substituting PSNT2 to old PSRR
  • an embedded oscillator for limiting jitter and ensuring a high SNR and THD
  • a Sample Rate Converter enabling self-adaptation and audio data synchronization with no need for an external PLL

To fit any application requirement, sDACS95-SP.01-OL.LB-Titanium is delivered with 9 Application Schematics enabling the optimization of BoM cost and output power for each major application: Set-top-box, DVD players, HD-TV etc. whatever the output (Headphone, line-out or speakers).

Thanks to such high flexibility of Dolphin’s offering, a complete audio CODEC, hybrid between an ultra Low-Power ADC with Helium 2 architecture and a PWM DAC with Titanium architecture, now is available for empowering any SoC.
