This USB/AC Li-Ion battery charger is targeted for portable applications.

Silterra 180nm G View all specifications

Overview

This USB/AC Li-Ion battery charger is targeted for portable applications. The charging current can be adjusted from 60mA up to 1.1A through an external resistor or by digital control. The current provided to the system can also be adjusted up to 1.8A through the same procedure. This IP features a dynamic power management (DPM) which automatically reduces the charging current when the limit current may cause the system to fall.

This IP also had a features bulk voltage control which connects the substrate of the power device correctly in order to prevent damage on the circuit.

A Case for Custom Power Management ASIC

As more functionality has been added to the devices, the power requirements have increased. As the power requirement grows, the capacity of the battery has to be increased, increasing the space occupied and its weight. This makes the battery one of the bulkiest component in the handhelds.

Power Management for Internet of Things (IoT) System on a Chip (SoC) Development

There are many factors that must be considered when developing a custom System on a Chip (SoC) for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Chief among these are the power management circuits on the die. Vidatronic offers this white paper to discuss these considerations and all of the various circuit blocks that can be found in this application. Vidatronic IP solutions are discussed and the benefits they bring to IoT SoC designers.

CSoC Platform / Digital Subsystem IP for IoT

This paper describes a CSoC platform and configurable digital subsystem IP which can be deployed for development of IOT edge devices. The paper encompasses the different attributes of IOT edge device that can cater multiple industry segments, key features and benefits of CSoC platform, components of the digital subsystem IP that enables rapid prototyping of SoCs for IOT applications.

USB battery charging rev. 1.2: Important role of charger detectors

Other than generous helpings of coffee, what helps industry decrease time to market, drive down cost, and focus more of the design cycle on innovation? Hint: standardization. By defining protocols and operating characteristics, standards have impacted all aspects of technology: device package sizes, pin outs, data and communication interfaces, software drivers, connectors, ESD ratings, environmental compliance, test fixtures.

Guide to Choosing the Best DCDC Converter for Your Application

This white paper introduces a procedure for choosing the proper DCDC switching converter for a given application. It explains basic, performance, and optional metrics in detail. It also demonstrates other practical aspects that are sometimes overlooked by system designers. Multiple application examples are provided.
